CVMA 20-8 is raffling off this beautiful and decked out Golf Cart. Raffle tickets will be available at most local veteran organizations or can be purchased through a CVMA Chapter 20-8 member. Go to our charity section to learn more and purchase tickets.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) veterans’ charity. Donations are accepted. To make a tax deductible charitable gift please utilize the Zelle link above .
Our membership is comprised of Full Members (those with verified combat service), Supporter Members (those who have non-combat military service and have a strong dedication to helping veterans), and Auxiliary Members (Spouses of both Full and Supporter Members). We have members from all 50 states and numerous countries abroad, including combat areas. Please note that we are an ASSOCIATION and NOT a MOTORCYCLE CLUB (MC). Although we may be in a geographic area, we do not claim territory. We do not have a club house. We do not wear cuts or colors, but rather vests. Our patch is one piece.
The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) ® was formed in 2001 as an association of veterans from all branches of the US armed forces who ride motorcycles. The CVMA mission is to support and defend those who have defended their country and their freedoms. The CVMA sponsors and participates in many motorcycle-related charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various Veteran care facilities and Veteran charities.
As a registered 501(c)(3) veterans’ charity, our mission is dedicated to supporting and assisting veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms.
Our focus is to provide assistance and to help individual veterans, veteran care facilities, other veteran organizations and registered charities. We sponsor and participate in many veteran-related motorcycle (and other) charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran causes.
The CVMA® is actively involved in the community, participating in events (Veterans Day Parades, 4th of July Parades, Cemetary escorts, etc.. ) and activities that promote a positive image of veterans and the military.
CVMA® 20-8 is a brotherhood of veterans who share a common bond and a love of motorcycles. Members of the CVMA® 20-8 often form close relationships with one another, providing support and camaraderie that can be difficult to find elsewhere.
The CVMA® provides support and assistance to veterans in a variety of ways, including providing financial assistance, organizing events and activities to bring veterans together, and advocating for veterans’ rights.
CVMA® Chapter 20-8 includes veteran's and supporters who live in Parrish, Ellenton, Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, Osprey, Arcadia, Englewood, North Port, and Port Charlotte, Florida.
Q: What proof do I have to show to be eligible to join as a Full Member?
You MUST have a DD 214 showing your combat service or verifiable, official documentation showing a combat award.
Q: What if I don’t have a DD-214 or mine is inaccurate?
You can request a current copy of your service records at the National Archives website HERE. In order to join the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association as a FULL MEMBER you MUST be able to PROVE your combat service.
Q: Do I have to own a motorcycle?
Yes! You MUST own a motorcycle, 500 cc’s or larger and have a valid registration and insurance in YOUR name. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Honda, Yamaha or Harley Davidson. Just a motorcycle; we’re not picky but it’s helpful to have fuel range of over 100 miles and should be able to ride at least 70 MPH for a sustained period of time on the freeway. Your bike should also be mechanically sound.
Q: If I’m a veteran but have never been to a combat zone, am I eligible to join?
In certain cases you MAY be able to join the CVMA® as a Support Member. (We are limited to 10% Support Members) We welcome all vets to come ride with us whether you’re a member or not. Support members are required to submit their application with proof of military service through a CVMA® Full Member SPONSOR who has held a membership for not less than one year. Support members are required to have either ridden a minimum of 3,000 miles with their sponsor, attended three CVMA® events or be known by their sponsor for a minimum of 6 months. A full member submitting an application for a support member should verify they meet the above criteria. Only 1 support member can be vouched on per year by an individual CVMA® member.
Q: What are the qualifications for an Auxiliary Member?
An Auxiliary Member MUST be the current spouse of a Full Member or Support Member. You’ll need to submit an application and submit it along with a marriage certificate and the applicable payment for dues.
Q: What are the three levels of Membership?
Full Member. Support Member and Auxiliary Member.
Q: How can I get a Membership Application? In order to join our chapter, applicants must come to a meeting and complete the application. Along with your application, you must provide a valid copy of your DD 214 (showing your combat service or award) and CASH or a MONEY ORDER made out to “CVMA® 20-8” for your membership dues. Applicants MUST also affirm that they have read as a condition of your membership. Spouses may also apply for membership in the CVMA® Auxiliary.
